Chapter one

Kathy Lakas is lecture in social anthropology at Harvard University and she have committed for preservation of human rights after that she wont met with her friends in the Colombia university when she studied ago and made group community for preservation of human rights.

She collected her friends and matt is her friend after he graduated at their school, he become a lecture at the S.I.A and they used their meeting in one of his classroom and when they are meeting there are many questions of her friend,’’ why we’re here and what for..??’’ and Kathy answered ’’ our concern for human rights has centre mainly on political dissidents who are academics like ourselves’’ and her friend asked again ’’ why we must take out Rudolf Hess of jail in Spandau in Berlin, she answered ’’ because he has become of particular interesting for us, not only because of the controversy surrounding his imprisonment.

So they agreed whit her statements and after that matt invited her came dinner with him and their friends so she followed him, when the both in his car, matt asked for her’’ maybe l find a mercenary for help us, have you heard of soldier and fortune magazine..?? ‘’no ’’ ‘’ it deal with all the pornography of the trade of killing in the classified columns at the back the mercenaries advertise their services. CHAPTER TWO

When Kathy lakas was at the podium and she spoke with a biting brilliance in front her lecture and her students about society in room in her campus after that a tall dark-eyed man with a strong opened the door and entered that room, he is a mercenary and when she finished her presentation and she waited until the students had left, Kathy told with him. She asked him. ‘’ is your name John Haddad?’’  The man nodded.

The grey afternoon was drawing into the night; they went to her apartment and in that apartment Aaron waiting both to meeting and gave Haddad information about his work, after they came in her apartment they entered room and Aaron stayed there and Aaron said, ‘’welcome Mister John Haddad ‘’ and Aaron said again ‘’ why we brought you here, Mr Haddad, because we want you get Hess out of Spandau for us but Haddad said’’ l don’t promise you anything, and if l come up with a way of getting this man out you’ll have to pay me’’ and Aaron nodded.

Aaron said ‘’Kathy lakas will brief you and she will be going with you to Berlin, she will be representing this committee; you will make your reports to her.

CHAPTER THREE

tomorrow morning when Haddad take off airplane, it got trouble bad weather so he back to the west and he was travelling by bus and after that he got trouble again, there are many police check the passport but his passport is good and the police seemed satisfied.

Kathy didn’t follow him to Berlin but he will go after finished her job and Haddad came in Berlin and he looked for a cheap hotel and he found it although a small room on the third floor after that he phoned Kathy and he wanted met her.

Kathy was waiting for him by the entrance to the Zoo Garden and they met in there after that Haddad asked her “did you make contact with the American major?” Yes she answered and after that Haddad scanned the contents of folder as they left the city center, crossed the bridges spanning the Havel River, turned into Gatow Strasse.

Haddad looked up and saw towers and ramparts, small barred window, looming over the surrounding building after that he paused by a boom that was blocking access and the boom lifted so Haddad and Kathy moved a way and Haddad beck to his hotel.

CHAPTER FOUR

Haddad worked in the morning and he visited to checkpoints in the wall between East and West Berlin and he saw being the small memorial along the wall to the East Germans who had died in the attempt and he knew that the only way for him to got Hess across to the East.

He knew someone who has following of behind him and they must be getting ready to pick him up but Haddad had not expected them to find him in Berlin. At last someone lifted the receiver at the other end and cut through his train of though after that he got trouble he met with his enemy after he didn’t know what happened of himself and a police sitting by his bedside and a doctor was bending over him, examining the extensive bruising on his thighs.

He told to the police l was a visitor here and somebody hit me over the head from behind and after that the police gave beck his passport and the police said’’ you are lucky a man” after that he went to post office on the Kaiserdamm and called Kathy lakas, Haddad met Kathy off the PanAm flight into Frankfurt and Kathy said to him’’ l am going beck to new York tonight.

CHAPTER FIVE

Harvard U.S.A

Kathy beck to New York and she met with her group in her apartment and she discus about their committee to brought Hess get out of Spandau but now her friend disagree about it only Kathy and she said” we were part of a generation that brought down a president when he tried to change the course of American society, what happened to us? But his friends are silent.

Haddad went to the Paris to met Kathy brother and he traveled by taxis, after he came in Paris he met her brother, “his name is Michel lakas”.

They told in Michel apartment and Michel said’’ l have got a message from Kathy for you. She need to know how much a rescue, if it’s possible, could cost? Two hundred and fifty thousand U.S Dollars Haddad answered but Michel disagree because it’s a lot of money.

Michel saw her documents for Haddad because he wanted to see it, after Michel left, Haddad worked until early hours of the morning and he worked again for the rest of the day. On the afternoon of the second day he left the apartment and made his way to a house on the Rue Paul Valery in the fashionable 16^th arrondissement just off the Champs Elysees.  He wanted met Madame Billy because she had received police protection since the Second World War when an integral part of the resistance movement was run from her establishment. Haddad said ” you can tall me where Maroun is? “The third floor in the front” so after that he met Maroun in his room and Maroun is a Civil War.

CHAPTER SIX

Michael met Kathy’s in Paris and she told her brother about their father museum and she wanted selling that museum to pay mercenary and her brother agree with it. after they went to “lunch” in her the favorite cafe, they went to his apartment where Haddad stayed.

Kathy came in apartment and she entered that room where Haddad was standing by the door, and Haddad told her about condition in jail Spandau, and he saw amongst his papers it’s claimed that Himmler had the real hess killed and planted a substitute to make flight to England.

Kathy wanted showed something of Paris, they took Metro to the Boulevard deClichy and walked together after that she told him about her life or her father when her father in American War.

After that they went to his apartment and brought food and they eaten together in apartment. After eaten Kathy asked him “can l stay here tonight?” Haddad reached out, his strong hard hands touch her face with surprising gentleness, and she had already begun to fall in love with him.

CHAPTER SEVEN

Kathy saw someone entered apartment when she cooked in the kitchen but the door opened and she feel afraid, she listened of the cornel room ’’ hey lady’’ after that she saw someone by gun he is maniac man, his name is Mauron.

He didn’t knew Kathy but after Haddad entered that room he knew Kathy is ladies of Haddad so she isn’t afraid again, and Mauron apologias for Kathy and Haddad, after that they went to dinner together and Maroun told all about Haddad for Kathy.

After that Haddad wanted Maroun helped him to bring out Hess in Spandau and Maroun nodded. And in the next morning “we’re leaving for Berlin” Haddad said and Maroun “sure”.

CHAPTER EIGHT

The train into West Berlin’s Central zoo station at 6.20 p.m. after that Haddad and Maroun looking for Hotel but they got trouble the police stop them because police think they made mistake but they didn’t do it. 

They got hotel and in next morning day Haddad phoned the American Army officer who had help Kathy when she was here and he met American Army in British Officer’s Club, the man name is Dade and major Reed Henry. They both is Kathy friend and they are American Army.

Reed Henry told Haddad about Condition in jail and you will see a convoy leave there and convoy Hess to The British Military Hospital where He is being admitted for a check up, after that Haddad invited Reed Henry  to work together  and Haddad beck to the his Hotel.

CHEPTER Nine

Haddad was waiting across the streets from the entrance Spandau and the convoy passes streets Spandau and there are many securities saved that convoy. But the traffic lights so he confuse but he must followed that convoy and Haddad passes first bridge and he saw many wooden and forest only some hundred meters on the left and after that he saw river, drop of some twenty meters below.

Haddad traced several other routes Royal Military and after saw the hospital military Haddad beck to his hotel, he tried to show Mauron and they want next they went to there.

They made strategy when they entered that place and after that went there and Haddad wait interaction when he entered that place so after that Maroun entered the first   and Haddad followed him and Haddad showed a shadow with a gun and he called Maroun but he didn’t answered so Haddad moved a way for that place.

CHAPTER TEN

Mister Haddad phoned mister Dade and he wanted mat Reed Henry his friend and Dade and Reed wanted met in Kurfurstendamm after that they went to the Russian War memorial in East Berlin.

Reed Henry told them about Hess when he is leader of war, after Reed told he wanted Haddad Met with Herr Stroebling and he wanted helped Haddad and when he brought Hess got out, he wanted Herr Stroebling driver a car and get out of Spandau to German.

CHEPTER ELEVENT

Haddad worked in his hotel room and there’re knock the door and he opened the door and Kathy came in his apartment and she smile to Haddad but Haddad was busy with his work now and Haddad wanted her in his hotel and he want her back to the Paris because it’s very dangerous but Kathy angry with him.

And Maroun wanted Kathy stayed in hotel because he wanted got simpatico of her and Haddad was jeilous with him,

CAPTER TWELVE

Haddad found the address he was looking for in a block of flats near Spandau prison, he knock on the door and major Reed Henry opened the door and Haddad entered his home and he wanted Reed Henry told about Hess’ healthy and the doctor.

After that he walked the area by the bridge and careful timed each section of the journey from the prison to the hospital, he phoned the hotel. The concierge told him that Kathy had left a few minutes before.

Kathy was feeling depressed, she had never been good at waiting and she received called of Dade and after that they want to the restaurants and he can’t told her much about Britain and American after that they beck to the hotel.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Haddad returned the hotel at 11 p.m.  Still there was no sign of Kathy. He lay on his bed in the darkness; Haddad was cold, silent, and inwardly furious suddenly his still form uncoiled with a surge of power and speed.

In the morning they followed Angelo back to the pits as the cars came in, decelerating, shooting sheeting sheets of flame through the exhaust pipes to please the crowd.

They made their way down to the pits. Pierre had some business with the management, and he looked tried but as soon as he saw them he forced a smile ‘’hey’’ he said, tapping the cheque in his breast pocket.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

The Helous  lived in a squalid, crumbling, five story apartment block behind kottbuser Tor in the Turkish quarter. Haddad and Kathy looked for in that apartment and they got it and they met woman, she is Rene.

Haddad met Pierre Helou although Pierre wasn’t rich but he had live well in Beirut and where his driving skill had made him something of a hero, Haddad invited him to helped us and you can make pretending like when the convoy pass in the bridge and you make incidents,

Haddad contacted Reed Henry and they met in the deserted boatyard below the bridge and he told Reed because he needed someone helped him in the below bridge when he got Hess and Reed got ideas and he have someone to helped Haddad, he is Rocking Horse. He can brought Hess move a way from this.

Haddad met Kathy took dinner, she noticed maroun further down the restaurant and he sitting alone with his back against the wall. Kathy afraid because she prepared to pay him and she went beck to morrow to the Paris with Michel.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Kathy waited for her brother in a café on the Boulevard, three day in Paris and already she was missing Haddad and she looked up, Michel was making his way to her table after that they went to transfer money.

They buy the food for to eaten in her home and he told Kathy l just thought l saw someone watching us and Michel went up stairs of the rickety old building two at a time but there isn’t something.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Haddad met Michel, and Michel wanted to told him the money is going through but something else has came up there’s guy outside his apartment, and Haddad asked Michel ” where’s Kathy? And he answered “she goes the bank then she’s going on to an old friend of the family.

At one time many of the great names of France had been buried here and the ground beneath their sarcophagi had been tunneled out into burial vaults of up to ten meters deep, where, resting on slabs, one on top of the other, lay generation after succeeding generation of Parisians.

Michel saw that man had a gun in his hand, and he left again in the panic of being trapped, the guard looked at his watch for the last time, let his whistle drop, and walk out, pulling the ten foot iron spiked gate closed behind him and locking it.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Darkness came swiftly and with it silence and the cold child smell of dank earth when Michel moved cautiously backwards away from the man with the gun, deeper into the tangled area of statues and tombstones and empty graves.

Michel tried the door to a mausoleum, it was rusted half opened, when he put pressure on it, it gave way with a rasp of grating hinges, the tags moved towards the sound and Michel backed quickly away into the darkness.

Michel had the taxi drop him by a call box, he phoned Madame Cela’s. Still there was no reply. He dialed the number Haddad had given him in Berlin and Haddad had phoned Kathy’s apartment again and again until someone had lifted the receiver, when they heard his voice the person at the other

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

Haddad made his way to the hotel where he and Kathy had stayed and he found massage for him there telling him to wait by the phone after that he sat in the hotel lobby as hour after hour dragged by waiting for them to contact him.

After the death of his wife and child he had sworn that he would never let himself care about anyone so deeply again, but now he was aching for Kathy but Pat Haurigan sat in the kitchen of a house on the outskirts where Haddad looked for him.

Haddad knew he could be blackmailed position where he would have to  obey Stroebling instruction, but Maroun was so unstable that no opponent could guess what he would do. And Haddad entered the room and opened the door and Kathy sanding in front him.

CHAPTER NINETEEN

Haddad and their friends met in the room and they made strategy to getting out Hess out of Spandau, Haddad gave their job one by one to do the best and concentration in their job because the convoy of Hess will be do next day and they must got Hass freedom and getting out of  Spandau.

Not only Hess but they must brought Kathy too because Kathy was hostage and they must brought both getting out and freedoms and Haddad gave massage for them to constrictions to the security and didn’t made wrong in their mission.   

CHAPTER TWENTY­­-TWENTY TWO

They were up long before dawn again the next morning Warrant officer Cooksley drilled them until the sweat ran freely, in spite of the fact that the temperature was well below freezing in the warehouse.

They had discovered sacking and timber stacked against on well and this was use to mark the bridges and the side road and Hourigan, Joseph and Jamil take their posisitions.

Pierre climbed the dimly lit stairway of the tenement block to his apartment and Haddad signaled to Hourigan to drive the second Landover into position, and Michel already run through take the stop watch and Haddad controlled his anger and appeared to ignore the incident.      

Warrant officer Cooksly followed the stretcher bearers into the main courtyard of Spandau prison, the convoy was drawn up waiting for them and ambulance where Hess on it on the Second one and the engines of the convoy started up and great fortress gates swung open.

CHAPTER TWENTY THREE-TWENTY SIX

Jamil turned the landrover, hazar light flashing, across the traffic on Heer strasse, on the other side of the autobahn, opposite the entrance to the side road they had been using, was another side road which formed a short cut between Heer strasse and Jamil drove into the road.

The Turk was almost beside himself with excitement, the Turk had been underdogs a long time in Berlin. Joseph and Jamil transferred Hess to the Mini bus and Haddad knelt beside the old man, checking for himself that his heart beat was returning normal.

Three of them hurriedly to change into civilian clothes while jumblatt worked feverishly to strip the military police number plates and marking and they removed the bleu hazard light from the roof, restoring the rendrove to its former civilian appearance.

CHAPTER TWENY SEVEN – THIRTY

They flying time Athens was approximately and three hours and forty minutes. Due to the delay the plane landed well after midnight and supporters staggered out onto the gangway, and the ambulance, belonging to private clinic, was waiting for Michel because he got trouble for his body when he brought Hess in the Spandau.

As the ambulance disappeared Haddad turned back to Hess who was standing unsupported, with Jamil and Joseph behind and he was taking in the passport lights, the swirling traffic, deferent air, and the deferent smells.  

The taxi drew up Kathy climbing out she told driver and she want to the receptions areas of very modern and her brother was waiting for her and she met her brother was sitting up in bed and she was very happy because their mission success and she asked her brother “where is Haddad?” and her brother told her, “he’s at the airport” and “he want moved to Paris”.

So Kathy went to climbing into the taxi and went to the airport, and taxi stopped in the terminal of airport and she jumped out and run into airport after that she made him and she won’t him went her because she loved him but Haddad went to the Paris because in Paris there’re many memories with her and he want life together with her.
